- Before filing a patent
1° The first assessments on the patentability of the invention are carried out.
2° It's also advisable to conduct an international patent search. However thorough it may be, it has inherent limitations. The search relies on keywords and the international patent classification. Furthermore, patent applications are published 18 months after the filing date, and remain classified until then. Consequently, the search cannot be considered exhaustive.
3° After consulting the client to obtain further information and technical specifications, the patent report and the related patent application are prepared.
